Making Things Easy, Making Things Work with Ahmad Hodroj from Team Sunshine is a street-level look at how to build a home services brand that earns trust in an industry that burned a lot of it.

Ahmad Hodroj's path into solar started with a late-night phone call from a friend, a drive out to a SolarCity meeting the next morning, and a decision to start knocking doors the following day. "It was 2015," he recalls. "People didn't really know about this thing. And a lot of people inherently do not trust the door-to-door salesperson." That was his classroom.

Today, Team Sunshine is a full home performance contractor — solar, HVAC, roofing, battery storage, EV chargers, and more. The foundation isn't product lines or pricing strategy. It's content, consistency, and hard-won credibility in a space that has seen its share of bad actors.

"There's been some not-so-great players in this space," Ahmad says plainly. "And you have to build trust. Between yourself and the client. Between yourself and the employees. Between yourself and the vendors. All the way across the board." For Team Sunshine, that trust-building happens publicly — through client interviews, educational content, and a marketing team that treats every piece of social media as a slow-roll education campaign.

The conversation goes deep on what it actually costs to generate a lead in 2026, how programmatic advertising is lowering blended CAC, and why the people who call in and ask aren't always the ones who get hired. "Volume, follow up, follow up," Ahmad says about applicants who want to stand out. "That's the only way you're going to get my attention."

It's an honest look at building something real in an industry that doesn't always reward honesty — and what it looks like when you decide to do it anyway.
